"Life is too short not to plant loads of bulbs” became a motto that Victoria and Jenny established already in the very first season of the Röda vita rosen podcast. More than four years and over 200 episodes later, many of us are still on our knees in the autumn dusk, muttering as we dig bulbs into the soil—while reminding ourselves that the reward will come, on the other side of winter.

In this book, Jenny and Victoria invite the reader on a treasure hunt among the bulbs they themselves have come to love the most. They share around forty plant portraits, along with growing advice and floral compositions. We also follow the authors on a journey to England, where they visit blooming daffodil meadows in Batsford, talk with the head gardener of the idyllic 17th-century Barnsley House, framed by white giant crocuses and swelling Galanthus ‘Edward Elgar’. Along the way, there may also be the occasional tribute to hebe, golden rain tree walkways, and climbing roses trained over handmade arches—plus a small recipe for a lemon-soaked homemade sponge cake.

The book 'Bland snöklockor och vårstjärnor' (Among snowdrops and spring starflowers) is both a tribute to all the bulbs of the garden and a story about friendship, and about the dream of one’s own patch of land—a garden that will never be finished, because the possibilities for beauty are endless. All so that we may meet spring with that euphoric joy: the certainty that vitality—beautiful, colourful, and alive—always wins in the end.
