Papaver somniferum 'Bread Seed Poppy'
The dark red-black, double flowers against the gray-green leaves create a dramatic expression! It’s called the bread seed poppy because this is the flower that produces the poppy seed on our bread. It is also called the opium poppy. After flowering, attractive seedpods form that remain for many months. The poppy is very easy to grow and a beautiful asset to any flower garden.
