Cucumis sativus 'Petipikel'
Petipikel is a short vining/bush pickling cucumber. Petipikel has been bred to stay compact with the vines using only 1/3 of the space of a standard variety. Plants mature in just 45 days. Pick the green striped, spined fruit at 8 – 13cm for the best results. Harvest regularly to increase the yield. Best used for pickling, but fruit can be left until 15cm long and used fresh.

Sow seeds in pots or modules of good quality organic
compost during April and May. Pot into 7 cm pots when the true leaves
have formed. Transplant into the permanent site with well-fertilized
compost and canes or strings for them to climb. NOTE: Do not plant
the cucumber in the greenhouse too early, it easily gets root neck rot
in damp and low temperatures.
