Fritillaria meleagris 'Mix'
"In my garden, snake’s head fritillaries grow beneath an Amelanchier in lightly moist spring soil. They’ve spread by both seed and offsets. By the third year, I had twice as many. Sensual and beautiful—perfect in a slender vase or glass to admire their checkered skirts indoors."
– Victoria Skoglund
This is a mix of two types of fritillaries: the classic checkered purple and the purest white.
Bulb size: 7/+
Contents: 15 bulbs
Plant in autumn, 6–8 cm deep and about 10 cm apart in moist, well-drained soil. Fritillaria meleagris prefers partial shade and thrives under deciduous trees or in meadow-style plantings. Keep soil moist during spring; avoid dry sites. Allow foliage to die back naturally after bloom. Over time, they naturalize through both seed and bulb offsets. A graceful spring favorite, lovely in vases as well. Contains both checkered purple and white varieties.
