Poppy ‘Moulin Rouge’ is a striking perennial with large rose-red flowers and a deep black-purple centre. Floating above the sun-drenched border, it adds both drama and a harmonious, natural feel. An irresistible focal point. Best planted in a sunny position in well-drained, preferably sandy soil.

Height: 60–100 cm
Growth habit: Deeply lobed, hairy foliage that dies back after flowering (applies to all oriental poppies). The seed pods are decorative in winter borders and in arrangements.
Flowering period: June–August
Position: Full sun in well-drained, light soil. Drought tolerant.
Plant spacing: 35–40 cm
Additional notes: Deer resistant and slug resistant. Attractive to butterflies and beneficial for pollinators.

Important - The bare-root plant should be planted as soon as possible after you bring it home, as the roots are sensitive to drying out. If the ground is frozen, you can plant it in a pot and place it in a bright, cool location. It also works well to keep the roots in the bag. Lightly mist the roots and store the bag in a cool, dark place.
