- Description
- CARE GUIDE
Tulip 'Alba Coerulea Oculata' (Tulipa humilis var. pulchella) produces stunning star-shaped white flowers with a steel-blue center. It’s one of the few varieties that reliably returns even when grown in pots or containers. In garden beds, it comes back year after year. A somewhat rare variety that can be hard to find and is slightly more expensive. We warmly recommend this exquisite tulip—pair it with blue Anemone blanda for a perfect April combination.
Height: 10–20 cm
Bulb size: 8/+
Lifespan: Long-lived, up to 4 years
Contents: 5 bulbs
Plant in odd numbers, in groups of at least five to ten. The distance between the bulbs should be around 12 cm. Planting depth should be three times the height of the bulb. Dig a planting hole and loosen the soil with a spade. Then mix in some Zetas bulb fertilizer into the soil and cover the bulbs. Spray tulips, snowdrops, and crocuses with TRICO Garden to keep them safe from hungry deer. Pinch off the flower when it has finished blooming, let the foliage wither. Longevity depends on weather.
